Going virtual with Thames Turbo

7th May 2020

Thames Turbo Triathlon Club are organising a virtual duathlon taking place over the bank holiday weekend.

With the lockdown, sporting events across the country have been cancelled and postponed, including multiple triathlon and multisport events.

The Thames Turbo Sprint Race that was due to take place on 8 May was one of these, however the club are encouraging anyone and everyone to take part in their virtual duathlon across this VE Day bank holiday weekend – 8-10 May.

Taking part on Zwift, participants will complete a time trial cycle before, straight away, using their once-a-day piece of outdoor exercise to complete a 5km run.

Participants will then submit a combined bike and run time to be added to the leaderboard which will be split into different age categories, including a team event category.

Anyone who doesn’t have Zwift is still able to take part, with the club having a participatory option where participants can stay within government guidelines and do the cycle and run on consecutive days.

More information about the event and how to take part is available on the event page on Facebook

This event is a great way to be active and clock-up some time to help you colour in your Big Colour Challenge colouring chart. Remember, for every five minutes you’re active, that’s one segment you get to colour.
