Week Eight Challenge - Beginner

16th June 2020

Great eight! We’ve got more challenges for you to try at home, and don’t forget to colour in your charts when you’re active this week.

Get Creative

It’s time to get creative in the kitchen with OTE! Pop on your apron and cook up a delight with as many colours as you can. Whether it’s something for dinner or a sweet-toothed snack, the choice is yours. Why not see if you can incorporate swim, bike, run into your multicoloured masterpiece?

Before you tuck in, take a picture and share it on social media using #StayInWorkOut and tagging in @OTESPORTSGB on Instagram and Twitter and @OTESPORTS on Facebook. OTE will then select winners who will receive:

1st Place - Box of Gels, Bulk Bag of Energy Drink, Box of Anytime Bars, Box of Duo Bars, Tube of Hydro Tabs, & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £116)
2nd Place - Box of Gels, Box of Anytime Bars, Tube of Hydro Tabs & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £67.80)
3rd Place - Starter Pack & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £35)

Cycling with a twist

Can you mount and dismount from your bike safely? Let’s get confident and ready for any future triathlons you do by practicing this skill. You’ll need 40 minutes for this challenge:

  • Watch the video below

  • Cycle for ten minutes and remind yourself of what to do by watching the video
  • Go for another ten minute cycle and practice your mounting and dismounting

#Squadgoals

Choose a distance and plan a run route around your local area, can you complete it without stopping? Share your route with your friends who live nearby and challenge them to complete it without stopping and see who had the best time. You can use Strava to track your distance and time, using the record to compare your efforts and those of your friends.

Reach new heights

How did you get on in last week’s #Homeathlon challenge? Our friends at Limelight Sports are giving you another the chance to win places in their 2021 events (The London Triathlon, The Blood Cancer UK Blenheim Palace Triathlon, London Duathlon). All you need to do is join in the fun with their #Homeathlon challenges. Find out more and join this week’s challenge here.

Push your Possible

Take on your very own duathlon! Plan out your run-bike-run route, making sure to pick a distance that is challenging yet achievable for you. Set up your transition area in your house/driveway/garden and give your DIY duathlon a go. If you’re unsure of how far to go, just try a run and a cycle on the same day and see how you get on.
