Week Eight Challenge - Expert16th June 2020
Great eight! We’ve got more challenges for you to try at home, and don’t forget to colour in your charts when you’re active this week.
It’s time to get creative in the kitchen with OTE! Pop on your apron and cook up a delight with as many colours as you can. Whether it’s something for dinner or a sweet-toothed snack, the choice is yours. Why not see if you can incorporate swim, bike, run into your multicoloured masterpiece?
Before you tuck in, take a picture and share it on social media using #StayInWorkOut and tagging in @OTESPORTSGB on Instagram and Twitter and @OTESPORTS on Facebook. OTE will then select winners who will receive:
1st Place - Box of Gels, Bulk Bag of Energy Drink, Box of Anytime Bars, Box of Duo Bars, Tube of Hydro Tabs, & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £116)
2nd Place - Box of Gels, Box of Anytime Bars, Tube of Hydro Tabs & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £67.80)
3rd Place - Starter Pack & 2 Brit Tri Bottles (RRP £35)
This challenge might be better completed on a turbo or a virtual cycle. A bit like a time trial, see how much power you can hold for 45-60 minutes. Either hold power of 2 w/kg or 3 w/kg or, if you don’t have a power meter, try and hold a speed for that time.
Everyone will be different depending on body composition, fatigue levels, lifestyle and much more, so share on social media and see how others got on using #StayInWorkOut.
Reach new heights
How did you get on in last week’s #Homeathlon challenge? Our friends at Limelight Sports are giving you another the chance to win places in their 2021 events (The London Triathlon, The Blood Cancer UK Blenheim Palace Triathlon, London Duathlon). All you need to do is join in the fun with their #Homeathlon challenges. Find out more and join this week’s challenge here.
Work, rest, relay
With a partner, either someone in your household or someone from outside following government guidelines on social distancing/video call, complete this challenge either on your bike or on foot.
- Set out a distance that you will run or cycle
- One of you runs/cycles the distance whilst the other rests actively
- Once the first person has completed the distance, swap roles
- Repeat this until one of your can’t do another rep
This challenge sees your rest determined by your partners effort and vice versa. If you’re running, try using a 100m distance and if cycling, 400m.
Run your socks off
Go for a run and enjoy it! Don’t plan your route, leave your sports watch at home, run as fast or slow and for as long as you like. Take a selfie and a snap or two of your route and post it in The Membership Hub with what you enjoyed most about it.
Why not run with members of your household or with people not in it, making sure to follow the government guidelines on social distancing.
This session is best completed after the Power Up challenge as a recovery run to shake those legs out!
